A low-cost sacrificial drifter to map surface currents
The low-cost sacrificial CARTHE drifter tracks currents centered 40 cm below the
surface and is designed to enable large-scale deployments. The patented design was developed by a team of physical
oceanographers and engineers at the University of Miami.
